{"id":27821,"date":"2026-03-04T20:07:04","date_gmt":"2026-03-04T18:07:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cheops-technology.ch\/docs\/veeam-cloud-connect\/"},"modified":"2026-03-05T12:58:41","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T10:58:41","password":"","slug":"veeam-cloud-connect","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/www.cheops-technology.ch\/en\/docs\/veeam-cloud-connect\/","title":{"rendered":"Veeam Cloud Connect"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"VeeamCloudConnect-1)Pr&#xE9;requispouracc&#xE9;der&#xE0;laplateforme:\">1) Platform access requirements:<\/h1>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You must have access to Veeam Cloud Connect (login and password) sent to the requestor&#8217;s email address on the hosting contract.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Veeam Backup &amp; Replication license.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>High-speed Internet access, minimum 100\/100 symmetrical for standard use (this indicator remains theoretical, depending on the volume of data to be transferred).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follow the flow matrix below:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Cloud gateway  <\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Veeam Backup &amp; Replication server IP<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">veeam-cloudconnect.dfinet.ch<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">TCP<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">6180<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Communication between your on-site Veeam server and the VeeamCloudConnect solution provided by DFI.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">WAN accelerator<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">WAN accelerator gateway IP<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">veeam-cloudconnect.dfinet.ch<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">TCP<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">6165<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">If you have a WAN accelerator gateway, you can use it to compress data between your Veeam infrastructure and the VeeamCloudConnect platform provided by DFI.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can test the communication between your infrastructure and the VCC platform with the following command:<br\/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\"><code>telnet inf-bk-04.dfinet.ch 6180<\/code><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n<p>Or the following commands with WAN accelerator between the two sites:<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\"><code>telnet inf-bk-04.dfinet.ch 6180<\/code><code>telnet inf-bk-04.dfinet.ch 6165<\/code><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"VeeamCloudConnect-2)ConnecterVeeamBackup&amp;R&#xE9;plication&#xE0;VeeamCloudConnect:\">2) Connect Veeam Backup &amp; Replication to Veeam Cloud Connect:<\/h1>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Still in the &#8220;Backup Infrastructure&#8221; section, select &#8220;Service providers&#8221; then &#8220;Add Service Provider&#8221;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the DNS name of the Veeam Cloud Connect server: <strong>veeam-cloudconnect.dfinet.ch<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then add a credential using the &#8220;Add&#8221; button and the information you received by e-mail.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the process by simply following the final steps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>From this point on, you&#8217;re ready to perform remote backups and restores, simply by choosing the &#8220;Cloud repository&#8221; as your backup destination.<\/p>\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"VeeamCloudConnect-3)Testerlasauvegarde&#xE0;distance:\">3) Test remote backup:<\/h1>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Still in the &#8220;Backup Infrastructure&#8221; section, select &#8220;Service providers&#8221; then &#8220;Add Service Provider&#8221;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the DNS name of the Veeam Cloud Connect server: <strong>veeam-cloudconnect.dfinet.ch<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then add a credential using the &#8220;Add&#8221; button and the information you received by e-mail.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the process by simply following the final steps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>From this point on, you&#8217;re ready to perform remote backups and restores, simply by choosing the &#8220;Cloud repository&#8221; as your backup destination.<\/p>\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"VeeamCloudConnect-4)Effectuerunerestauration&#xE0;distance:\">4) Perform a remote restore:<\/h1>\n\n<p>Two situations are possible:<\/p>\n\n<p>1. You have lost your entire infrastructure, including the Veeam Backup and Replication server, so you need to reinstall a VM with Veeam, taking care to check steps 1 and 2 of this procedure.<\/p>\n\n<p>Then simply continue as follows:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the &#8220;Backup Infrastructure&#8221; section, select &#8220;Backup Repositories&#8221;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the &#8220;Cloud&#8221; entry in the right-hand panel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Right-click &#8220;Rescan Repository<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Now that backups have been recognized, restoration can begin.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the &#8220;Backup &amp; Replication&#8221; section, select &#8220;Cloud&#8221;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then select the backup to restore in the right-hand section.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the &#8220;Entire VM&#8221; button at the top of the page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follow the steps as required. For the test, it&#8217;s easiest to leave the default values. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>2. Your Veeam server is still available but you want to restore a virtual machine from VeeamCloudConnect<\/p>\n\n<p>In this case, proceed as follows:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the &#8220;Backup &amp; Replication&#8221; section, select &#8220;Cloud&#8221;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then select the backup to restore in the right-hand section.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the &#8220;Entire VM&#8221; button at the top of the page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follow the steps as required.
