Here is a table of the various entries that DFi provides with their associated descriptions:<\/p>\n\n

A<\/td>Returns an IPv4 address for a given host name.<\/td><\/tr>
A6<\/td>Returns an IPv6 address for a given host name.<\/td><\/tr>
AAAA<\/td>Returns an IPv6 address for a given domain name.<\/td><\/tr>
AFSDB<\/td>Maps a DNS domain name in the server_host_name<\/em> field to the hostname of a server belonging to a server subtype. TheSubtype<\/em> field can contain one of these recognized and supported values<\/td><\/tr>
CNAME<\/td>Allows you to create an alias (shortcut) from one host to another.<\/td><\/tr>
DNAME<\/td>Alias for a name and all its sub-names<\/td><\/tr>
HINFO<\/td>HINFO resource record (host information). Specifies processor and operating system type<\/td><\/tr>
LOC<\/td>type of DNS record used to provide geographic position information<\/td><\/tr>
MX<\/td>Indicates message routing to a mail server host<\/td><\/tr>
NAPTR<\/td>describes the rewriting of a key (a domain name) into a URI<\/td><\/tr>
PTR<\/td>Reverse DNS<\/td><\/tr>
RP<\/td>Specifies a domain mailbox name for a responsible person<\/td><\/tr>
SRV<\/td>Allows multiple servers offering a similar TCP\/IP service to be located using a single DNS query<\/td><\/tr>
