With your CPanel, you can only use the SFTP protocol with your main CPanel user, which you can find in the \u201cConnection details\u201d section of your DFI-DIrect interface: Overview of Professional Web Hosting<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

You can connect to your web hosting securely by any other means. In fact, you can use an SSH key that you can generate from your CPanel.<\/p>\n\n

You can only create your key using the name of your \u201cHome Directory\u201d.<\/p>\n\n

  1. Retrieve the path to your Home Directory from the Cpanel main page\"\"\/<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Enable SSH access from menu \"\"\/<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Click on \u201cManage SSH Keys\u201d then on \u201cGenerate a new key\u201d. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Enter the name of the key with the network path retrieved in point 2\"\"\/Click on \u201cGenerate Key\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Once you\u2019ve clicked on \u201cgo back\u201d, you\u2019ll see that the KEY\u2019s status is \u201cnot authorized\u201d.\"\"\/Click on \u201cManage\u201d and then on \u201cAuthorize\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Now you need to recover your private key \"\"\/<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Convert the key to ppk format (you must enter the password you entered in step 5):\"\"\/then \u201cDownload Key\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. From Filezilla, click on the top right button \"\"\/ to create a new connection:\"\"\/<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n
