Hello Kevin, can you introduce yourself in a few words? <\/strong><\/p>

My name is Kevin Chollet and I joined DFI in 2021 as Infrastructure and Automation Manager. My role is to coordinate the activities around maintenance and evolutions for infrastructure, automation, Linux environments and telephony.<\/p><\/div>

Can you tell us about your background?<\/strong><\/p>

My background is relatively unusual. From an initial training as an electronics technician, I then went on to become a Telecommunications Engineer. I was also lucky enough to be able to set up my own company in parallel with my training. In 2014, I joined a very active web hosting company as a Linux system administrator, and, bouncing on opportunities that came my way, I became IT operations manager there. This career path allowed me to manage and implement a large number of changes in the existing architecture in order to adapt to new market requirements.<\/p><\/div>

Why did you choose to join DFI? <\/strong><\/p>

I was immediately attracted by the challenge of giving a new impetus to DFI\u2019s infrastructure issues in order to support structural transformations and prepare for tomorrow\u2019s market. We aim to modernise operations (through automation, among other things) in order to push to the extreme the taste for excellence that is part of the company\u2019s DNA.<\/p><\/div>

What do you like most about your job?<\/strong><\/p>

The fact that we have to constantly question ourselves in order to allow the whole company to evolve for the better is exciting. Nothing we decide today can be taken for granted tomorrow. Guiding my team through this leitmotif is a huge source of motivation and building this common good together is extremely rewarding.<\/p><\/div>

What is a typical day for you?<\/strong><\/p>

There isn\u2019t really a typical day\u2026 The main guidelines are that the beginning of the morning is dedicated to the various emergencies. This is followed by a briefing on the different topics and tasks of the day in order to prepare our daily team meeting at 10.30. This point is the pivotal point of the day, it allows us to redirect people if necessary or to readjust priorities. In the same way, if necessary, it is an opportunity to discuss specific problems in order to benefit from the collective intelligence. The end of the morning is devoted to the follow-up of tasks between the different departments All of this gives way to afternoons that vary greatly depending on the current situation, but are very often oriented towards environment architecture, solution evaluation or even workshop animation within my team.<\/p><\/div>

Which project are you most proud of?<\/strong><\/p>

The project to re-implement our automation platform in 2022 makes me very proud. Unfortunately, it is still too early to talk about it!<\/p><\/div>

What do you like to do when you are not working?<\/strong><\/p>

Being a travel enthusiast, part of my free time is taken up with preparing and\/or travelling and discovering new places and cultures.<\/p><\/div>

<\/div>What is your hidden talent?<\/strong>

One of my vocations is teaching. For 3 years now, I have been teaching students doing their computer science degree in Lausanne.<\/p><\/div>
