Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an additional layer of security used to protect your account against unauthorized access.
When logging in with 2FA enabled, a user will provide their username and password as usual, and then provide secondary information that only they know. In this case, it’s a one-time password that’s regenerated every 30 seconds.
To start using 2FA:
- Scan the QR code (available in Settings> User Management > ATwo-Factor Authentication (2FA)) using an application like Google Authenticator.
- And enter the one-time password in the Code field.
- Then click on Register.
- A set of recovery codes will be generated when 2FA is activated. Store these codes in a safe place. If you lose access to the device on which you registered 2FA, these codes will be the only way to access your account. They are for single use only and must be used in sequential order.
