How to manage an FTP account

Change password

To change the password for an FTP account, proceed as follows:

1. Click on “Change Password” for the FTP account for which you wish to change the password.
2. Enter and confirm the new password in the appropriate text boxes.
3. Click on “Change Password

notes:

1. The system qualities of the password you enter on a 100-point scale. 0 indicates a weak password, while 100 indicates a very secure password.
2. Some web hosts require a minimum password strength. A green RT password counter indicates that the password is equal to or greater than the required password strength.
3. Click on Password Generator to generate a strong password. For more information, read our Password Generator documentation.

Change Quota

Remember:

To change the quota of an FTP account, proceed as follows:

1. Click on “ChangeQuota” for the FTP account for which you wish to modify the quota.
2. Enter the disk space quota, or select Unlimited.
3. Click on “ChangeQuotas”.

Delete

To delete an FTP account, proceed as follows:

1. Click on “Delete” for the FTP account you wish to delete.
2. Check the option to delete Home Directoy if desired
3. Click on “Delete”.

Please note:

Use this option only with extreme caution. If the FTP account you are deleting can access the public_html directory, this option automatically deletes the public_html directory and all its contents, which will break your website.

1. Cancel – Do not delete the account.
